Zuiderzeemuseum x Simón Ballen Botero x Bianca Koevoets
Klaas Spel is 78 years old and has been working as a brush maker in the Zuiderzeemuseum for 36 years. It is difficult to find successors; next to Spel, only 1 volunteer still works there. Simón Ballen and Bianca Koevoets collaborate with Spel on new forms for the brush making techniques. Spel is a traditional brush maker who makes his brushes by “pulling the hair by hand”. The Zuiderzeemuseum is committed to the survival of these crafts, so a new generation can innovate from tradition.
