(w)aardewerk
Crafts Council Nederland is launching (w)aardewerk, focusing on solutions for current challenges in ceramics: clay extraction and ceramic production in the context of energy transition, soil degradation and climate change.
Ceramics are popular, not only among makers and designers but also among hobbyists. We are initiating the creation of a Community of Practice, connecting like-minded professionals to share insights. We will organize conferences to present the latest insights and innovations. An open call for makers will be announced, providing the opportunity to develop sustainable products. Interested individuals can participate in masterclasses and lectures. All acquired knowledge will be compiled in an online archive containing stories, inspiration, information on raw materials, production methods and sustainable alternatives. Additionally, we will showcase the outcomes at DDW 2024.
(w)aardewerk is made possible by: Stimuleringsfonds, Keramiekmuseum Princessehof, Fries Museum, Instituut GAK, World Crafts Council Europe, the Creative Europe Programme and the Iona Foundation.
