The Linen Project explores how a production chain for linen can be organized in the 21st century, for both manual and industrial production. On the understanding that everything is interconnected, this project explores how the linen chain can be a model for a new economic system. A system where it is no longer about financial growth, but about values such as togetherness, care, proximity, sustainability, reciprocity and appreciation for all partners involved. Instead of a focus on transactions, the emphasis is on relationship. Encouraging collaboration between all partners in the chain, from farmer to end-user, creates an integrated production process that benefits both local communities and the environment.
