The Borduurschool is an initiative of Crafts Council Nederland. Through the transfer of knowledge, presentations, research, and lectures, we are building an ecosystem for embroidery together. We pass on stories, vital knowledge and skills to younger generations. This is essential for preserving the intangible heritage of embroidery techniques and making it sustainable for the future.
In 2021, we organized an in-depth public program in collaboration with the Fries Museum in conjunction with the exhibition Haute Bordure. In 2023, we held various workshops and masterclasses in collaboration with the Wereldmuseum Rotterdam for the exhibition Geen Woorden Maar Draden. In 2024, we are organizing programming in collaboration with the Fries Museum for the exhibition Ja, ik wil! and the Kunstmuseum Den Haag for the exhibition DIOR – A New Look.
