As the concluding activity of Crafting Europe, we organized an international conference during Dutch Design Week on the theme of NEW CRAFTS. We evaluated the outcomes of the research and tried to find answers to questions such as: ‘What does digital integration mean for the craft profession in the various European countries in terms of artistic, technical and societal innovation? Should we update crafts and craftsmen, or should we see craftsmanship as something that is constantly evolving and further developing with the help of high-tech?’ The presentations were given by participants from the eight countries involved in Crafting Europe: Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Georgia, United Kingdom, Ukraine and the Netherlands.
Keynote speakers were Lonneke Gordijn (Studio Drift) and Aliki van der Kruys and Jos Klarenbeek (Kadans 2.0)
