In this project, we invite participants to grow 1m2 of flax in their own garden, inspired by the Swedish 1 KVM LIN. Under the guidance of experts, they will go through the entire process from seed to textile. Throughout the year, participants will receive practical newsletters, gain access to online webinars and can take part in inspiring processing days and workshops.
1m2 vlas
By growing their own flax and experiencing the magical process from seed to fiber, participants will naturally confront critical questions about the current textile and production system, which will alter their perspective on textiles. This project helps participants make better-informed and more sustainable choices.
The end result? A homemade napkin as tangible proof of the journey they have undertaken. At the end of this educational and enriching year, we will host a lunch where participants can bring their unique napkins and share their experiences.
In 2024, 850 interested individuals will take part. At this time, it is no longer possible to sign up for the project. Interested in participating in 2025? Sign up for our newsletter or follow @craftscouncilnederland en @_1m2vlas on Instagram.
