HOW&WOW Linen – Dutch Design Week 2020

HOW&WOW Linen takes you into the world of flax and showcases unique applications of this versatile crop. The hidden and almost forgotten knowledge of Dutch agriculture for linen production claims its place in the present. The video series HOW takes you from delicate blue flowers growing in our harsh polders to the processing techniques where terms like dew-retting, scutching and hackling gain significance. In WOW, a group of makers interprets applications and visions inspired by ancient techniques and the beauty of the material. HOW&WOW Linen is a group exhibition that shines a light in the shadow of 2020.
