Nynke Koster

The work of Nynke Koster balances on the border between design and autonomous art. Her work is about memories and space that she casts in a very special rubber. She makes molds in unique places, structures of buildings, interiors and from bodies. She takes parts of these embracing places with her as her 3D memories. Because of here love for craftsmanship each work is a unique and personal object. Koster wants to pass these tangible and immaterial relics from the past on to future generations. Places from the past can give us a new perspective on the future. Elements of Time focuses on architectural fragments of time. Koster examines the ornamentation in architecture through the ages, piece by piece, building for building. It is space, time and place transformed into soft elements.
