Meet the Maker: Sofie Leenen

‘My name is Sofie Leenen and in 2018 I graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven. After graduating I started as a freelance designer for different studios. I also work on personal research projects, like Seasonal Curtains and Window Scala. I am fascinated by making processes, crafts and material development. I believe it is very important to question not only why, but also how products are developed. By looking very closely and learning from existing techniques new possibilities can develop. In my designs I search for appreciation of quality, user comfort and sustainability.’

What can Crafts Council do for you?
’Crafts Council Nederland is a platform where makers with the same drive and specialty come together. I believe in physical meetings or collective presentations to expand this network. We can learn a lot from each other and share our new developments.’
