Meet the Maker: Frans Dingemanse
‘My name is Frans Dingemanse and I am a painter as well as a woodcarver. Being a carver might sounds old fashioned, Medieval even, but I don’t mind. I feel very connected to carvers, especially to those from the nineteenth century. My painting technique is watercolor. I make realistic work with great eye for detail. My carving work is also very detailed. I decorate knife handles and more with carvings; an old tradition from Zeeland (a province in the Netherlands). After high school I wanted to draw and paint. My old art teacher recommended to study MO-drawing, to become an art teacher myself.’
