Makers Unite presents the Robot Bag in collaboration with fashion designer Bas Kosters.
The Robot Bag is made from lifejackets that were used by refugees crossing the Mediterranean Sea on their way to Europe for a safer home and hopefully a better future. Makers Unite invited creative people with a migration background to develop the bag together with fashion designer Bas Kosters. At HOW&WOW – Studio, these makers work together with the audience to create a personalised Robot Bag.
Makers Unite is a platform that connects local creative makers with newcomers to create meaningful and sustainable products with a heartening story. Makers Unite is also a platform to present new talent and to create awareness for the importance of equality and social integration.
The Robot Bag is part of the SS19 collection of Bas Kosters. According to Kosters, the collection Dear Sir / Madam: HOPE, stands for the sunny side up. For hope. For a fresh start. And above all for cherishing dreams.
