Fleur Peters

Fleur Peters is fascinated by light and colour that translates into glass work, in which she investigates the relationship between craftsmanship and contemporary design. Peters believes it is important to develop traditional crafts and to ensure that knowledge and cultural heritage are preserved. She does this by combining crafts with industrial production processes and bringing the best of those two worlds together.

“The Light Conductors” is a material research into light and colour in glass, with the aim of conserving traditional glass techniques. Peters experiments with screen printing, engraving and painting on glass and laminates this like safety glass. This industrial technique not only makes the glass strong, it also has an aesthetic value. A foil with print can be added between the layers so that any colour and shape can be given to the glass. With “The Light Conductors” she has developed her own material library, which she can use in the coming years.
