Emma Wessel creates inspirational scenarios for possible futures, giving new ideas to brands and businesses with a design perspective. In her work, she moves between the world of scenario thinking and product design with a keen focus on fashion. New ideas arise in the making process, which is key within her practice. Playing around and creating dialogue with existing objects give her the possibility to assign new functions to these objects.
Shelly is the sister of the Brady Twister chair that Wessel developed for HOW&WOW – cooperazione! by Crafts Council Nederland exhibited last year during Dutch Design Week. The Shelly Twister rack is a result of playing, experimenting and trying things out on an existing hardware store rack. Shelly is playful and has its own character. An ode to personalizing standardization.
