Anna Stringer carves traditional statues and ornaments in her studio. She also restores old carvings including furniture, mirrors and picture frames, and interior fittings according to the traditional craft. The craftswoman reconstructs lost carvings based on old photographs or drawings.
But Stringer also creates new designs in historic styles. Like a rococo mirror frame, a new design based on 18th century works, fitted for a mantlepiece in a monumental building. In addition, she also makes figurative sculptures, to her own design or customer’s design. These are portraits in wood, clay and bronze manufactured by hand.
